Came across your excellent website tonight and thought I'd drop you a quick note along with the attached photo of a painting in my collection.
Jim Dye (335th Sq.) was my Dad's 2nd cousin, and in '93 we commissioned Stan Stokes to paint Jim's 08 March '44 shoot down of a FW-190 near Dahme/Luckau, Germany. The painting It is titled "Cold Meat" which was Jim's description of the kill during our interview.
I have a ton of info about this particular kill, and all sources indicate the German pilot was Hptm. Hermann Segatz (34 kills) of JG-1.
